Owner of a social media handle in the name of “Kuredikuri” used for slandering Prophet Mohamed ﷺ flees country when exposed.
Addu Feydhoo 23-year-old Hussain Shaihan used “Kuredikuri” Twitter handle & Facebook page to insult Islam with cartoons and insulted holy Quran. He fled the country when number of accusations raised as his identity was exposed. According to sources he fled to neighboring Sri Lanka yesterday.
Upon fleeing, Maldives Police Service has begun investigation of the case.
Shaihan shared insults to Islam and to Allah and His Messenger Mohamed ﷺ using derogatory language and explicit cartoons. Both Twitter account and Facebook page shaihan used is currently deactivated.
Maldives Police Service informed media that they have begun investigation of blasphemy against Prophet Mohamed ﷺ in social media. But journalists are still concerned as Police did not answer their questions regarding the issue.
Hussain Shaihan was employed at Fiyoaree School as teacher in the past and even then, had issues of opinions against Islam. He was later employed as a teacher at Villimale’.
Shaihan has threatened some Maldivians for being against homosexuality saying it cannot be stopped and slandered Prophet Mohamed ﷺ.
