Maldives National Defense Force says it has started searching the sea for Mohamed Shafeeu, 49, who went missing from Fuvahmulah City on Friday night.
MNDF’s media official reports MNDF’s Southern Area Squadron was running a join operation with the police to search the sea for Shafeeu.
Shafeeu’s family says Shafeeu – who lives in the Funaadu district of Fuvahmulah City – was last seen just as he left his wife’s house in Dhoondigan district after dinner on Friday night at around 9:30 pm.
He was reported missing to the authorities just after midnight.
Police report that they, along with citizens of the city have searched a large part of the island and will continue searching for him.
