Police MV App Relaunched with New Features

The Police MV mobile application has been relaunched with upgraded services and new features.
The updated app was launched by Minister of State for Homeland Security and Technology, Dr Mohamed Kinanath.
The app now supports eFaas login, aligning with the government’s Maldives 2.0 digital transformation goals and aiming to speed up public service delivery. The app is intended to increase public participation in community safety and provide services more swiftly and conveniently.
New features of the app include reporting crime and submitting evidence, direct communication with investigating officers, online applications for detainee visits and appointing lawyers, viewing lost items, towed vehicle information and police-related transactions among other features. It also enables downloading police certificates and clearances digitally.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, State Minister Kinanath highlighted that several technology-related laws, including the Cyber Security Act, Data Protection Act, Digital ID Act, Maldives 2.0 Act, and an AI law, are being drafted and submitted to Parliament as part of the Maldives 2.0 digital transformation initiative. He stressed that these laws, along with established software and hardware standards, are essential to ensure effective use of technology across government agencies.
The State Minister also emphasised that one of the biggest challenges is the lack of connected systems between agencies, and noted that improving data exchange between portals and applications will accelerate service delivery. He also underscored the importance of making data-driven decisions to maximise the value of information systems.
