President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced his intention to initiate legal proceedings against individuals responsible for spreading what he described as “untrue and false” allegations in a recently released video documentary.
The President made the remarks during a press conference at the President’s Office, responding directly to a question from a journalist representing the Adhadhu online news outlet, which published the documentary.
“You know you are admitting to making a video that contains a definite lie. I ask all concerned to prosecute all those who made up and spread such lies,” he said, describing the claims presented in the documentary as a “definite lie”.
President Muizzu said he was not surprised by the release of the content, noting that the same outlet had previously published similar videos targeting him, which he maintains were also based on falsehoods.
