Met Office Warns of Possible Tidal Surges and Adverse Weather Across Maldives

The National Meteorological Service has cautioned that weather conditions may worsen across the Maldives, with potential tidal effects expected during high tide periods.
This follows a white alert issued nationwide yesterday, warning of tidal surges and adverse conditions. According to the Met Office, thunderstorms with gusty winds are likely over the next 24 hours. Winds are forecast to blow from the southwest and west at speeds between 5 and 15 miles per hour.
Seas are expected to be moderately rough, with wave heights ranging from two to five feet, and widespread heavy cloud cover is anticipated.
Authorities have urged the public, especially seafarers and coastal communities, to exercise caution and stay updated with the latest weather advisories.
