China will assist Maldives in dealing with the waste management issue- China

Deputy Head of the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Liu Qieng has stated that the Chinese government will assist Maldives in dealing with the waste management issue which has become one of the main environmental problems that Maldives has been facing.
The Deputy Head of the Chinese Embassy made this remark speaking at the ceremony held yesterday at the Ministry of Environment to hand over the donation of 200 waste bins to Maldives.
Speaking at the ceremony Mr. Liu Ching highlighted on the importance of keeping the environment clean and safe since many tourists visit Maldives and also he said that he wishes to sustain the relationship between the Maldives and the Chinese government.
The contracts to handover 200 waste bins was signed by the Deputy Minister of Ministry of Environment and Energy, Mr. Ali Amir on behalf of the government and the Deputy Head of Commission of Chinese Embassy in Maldives, Mr. Liu Ching signed the contract on behalf of the Chinese government.
The cost of the waste bins amount to more than 5 lakhs. Speaking at the ceremony to handover the waste bins, Deputy Minister Mr. Ali Amir expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government for donating the waste bins.
