MDP Chairperson Ali Waheed has said that the Maldives needs to change its situation on coming Sunday.
Ali Waheed made this remark at the “Maldivians against tyranny” rally held last night at the Artificial Beach Area.
Following his speech Ali Waheed said that many people might think that he is calling the people to change the government.
“I said that as the government will open on Sunday. Nasheed’s appeal period has ended as he decided not to appeal it. With the opening of the government, President Yameen can give clemency to Nasheed. That will be a change,” he said.
Ali Waheed said that political rivalry is usually seen during elections. He said that if these continues every day then the government will have no time to serve the people. He asked the “leader of unrest in Maldives to remove it.”
He said that it is not only the politicians who being harmed by the political unrest in the country. He said that the people are also suffering because of the tyranny of the current government.
