Chairperson of Maldives Democratic Party، Ali Waheed confirmed that he currently is abroad for medical attention.
He confirmed the trip via Twitter، in which he had also directed verbal attacks at government، calling out to the state not to label him as a terrorist without any justice prevailed over his case and warned the state not to threaten him of the fear of imprisonment.

While MDP’s Chairperson Ali Waheed has confirmed that he is currently abroad for medical purposes، Adaalath Party leader Sheikh Imran Abdulla، JP’s deputy leader Ameen Ibrahim and political activist Sobah Rasheed are all، charged with terrorism.
Ali Waheed had also been an active participant of the political demonstration of May 1st that had ended in violent confrontations between police and protesters. He was arrested on the night of the protest، along with Imran Abdulla and Ameen Ibrahim.
Meanwhile، political activist Sobah Rasheed had recently flown out of country and sought political asylum from a foreign country، which had has not disclosed، in the publicized YouTube video message he posted after traveling abroad.
