67th national day of China celebrated in Maldives

A special function has been held at Hotel Jen tonight to celebrate the 67th national day of China. The guest of honor at the ceremony was acting Foreign Minister, Youth Minister Irthishaam Adam.
Speaking at the ceremony Irthisham said that China has always been a friend of the Maldives and especially since 2014 China has been really close to the Maldives.
Irthishaam said that soon it is going to be 44 years since Maldives and China established diplomatic relations. She further said that we can see Chinese assistance and aid from every sector of Maldives.
In addition, she noted that even though China is a global super power and Maldives is a small country, China considers Maldives as one of their closest allies and is helping the country in various ways.
She also said that, Maldives will also assist China in ways Maldives can and cooperate with China in the international arena.
Irthisham also noted Maldivies is benefiting a lot because lately various delegations from China visit the Maldives and Maldivian delegations also get to visit China and experience their culture. “Because of this cultural and individual relations are getting stronger” said Irthishaam.
Irthishaam also talked about the China-Maldives Free trade agreement and said that soon it will be signed. In addition, Irthisham thanked the Chinese government, especially the Chinese President Xi Jingping for helping and assisting the Maldives in various areas.
Tonight’s function was attended by senior government officials, businessmen, foreign diplomats and senior figures in the tourism sector.
