A lot of people visit the Cave of Hira in Hajj season every year.
The cave is located on the mountain named Jabel-Al-Nour. A lot of people visit the mountain because whole city of Mecca can be seen from the mountain.
Allah, revealed the first verses of Quran to Prophet Mohammed, (S.A.W) when he was inside the cave of Hira.
Hence this cave is very special for Muslims. Even though it is not sacred in religious sense, historically it is important for Muslims.
It is not easy to climb the mountain. However, every year a lot of people climb the mountain with their families. These people who climb the mountain say that there must be a reason why Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W) climbed the mountain with great difficulty. Hence that it is important to climb the mountain and experience it.
The mountain is located far away from where the muslims lived in those times. There are many other mountains nearby to the historic centre of Mecca and so there must be a reason why that specific mountain was chosen.
If there is a way to go up the mountain by cable car, millions of people will visit the mountain and this would positively impact the Saudi economy too.
Maldivian Hajj groups do show the mountain when they do the tour of Mecca. However it is not known whether they actually climb it.
