Minister Ali Waheed gives statement over Rilwan's abduction

Tourism Minister Ali Waheed has provided a statement to the Commission on Disappearances and Deaths, about journalist Ahmed Rilwan’s abduction.
Minister Waheed provided his statement on Tuesday, and commission chair Husnu Suood has said that a number of others have also provided their statements in the case.
Although Suood had not provided any details, the commission has asked anyone with information about the cases they are investigating to come forward.
President Ibrahim Solih established the commission to investigate unsolved deaths and disappearances since January of 2012 to his inaugural date November 17th, this year. Members of the commission also include lawyer Fareesha Abdulla, journalist Misbaah Abbas, Abdulla Munaz, and Adam Ibrahim.
Rilwan was reported missing in August of 2014. While the police had announced that the disappearance was the result of an organized abduction, which they revealed two years after the case surfaced, two individuals charged in the case have been acquitted and released.
The circumstances of his disappearance remain unclear and his family has expressed concern over the investigative and judicial proceedings in the matter.
