Efforts are under way by Ministry of Home Affairs in collaboration with Dhiraagu to establish a call centre which will allow people to reach all government offices by dialling a single number.
The ‘Single Number Project’ was announced by Minister of Home Affairs Umar Naseer at a press conference at Dhiraagu Head Office on Thursday.
Umar Naseer said, “We are working with Dhiraagu on a ‘Single Number Project’. This means you can dial a single number and the call will be passed to the office you wish to contact. People will no longer have to carry around a list of numbers, instead they will only have to remember one number.”
He said that Dhiraagu has been commissioned to undertake a study on this project.
He also noted that collaborating with Dhiraagu, the telecom company with the largest call centre in the country, would be the best way to carry out such a project.
The service is expected to be launched next year.
