Adhaalath Party Deputy Leader and legal counsel for the Party Leader Sheikh Imran Abdullah and popular lawyer Maumoon Hameed were summoned to Criminal Court today.
The two lawyers were summoned to Court at 2pm today and advised.
Maumoon Hameed said that he was summoned to Court following comments made on social media regarding the sentencing of Adhaalath Party’s President Sheikh Imran Abdulla to 12 years in prison. He said that he had explained why he made those statements.
Ali Zahir said that he was instructed by Court officials not act in any manner that infringed on the rights and privileges of the Court. He added that he will not stop expressing his sentiments regarding the unjust verdict issued on Imran.
Of late, the two lawyers had been highly critical of the decisions and verdicts of the Court. Maumoon Hameed had criticized the 12 year verdict on Sheikh Imran, calling it a mockery of the legal system.
