Ooredoo Maldives' Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Hussain Niyaz has been recognized as one of Asia’s Top 10 Technology Leaders of 2025 by Trade Flock, a leading regional business and technology magazine.
The prestigious recognition highlights Niyaz's remarkable journey from a military communications expert to a top executive steering digital transformation in the Maldives. According to Trade Flock, Niyaz’s leadership has played a pivotal role in repositioning Ooredoo Maldives in the telecom market, overtaking long-standing competitors and expanding the company’s market share.
The magazine praised his inclusive and people-centered vision of technology, noting his active support for digital literacy initiatives, education partnerships, and engagement with local councils to empower communities across the country. “His mission is clear: to reduce the digital divide and lead the country toward a technologically empowered tomorrow,” the profile reads.
Niyaz, a former MNDF officer with 12 years of experience in military signals, transitioned to the telecom sector to build on his electronics and communications expertise. At Ooredoo, he rose through the ranks—from technician to Head of Networks and ultimately to CCO—bringing a unique blend of technical know-how and business acumen.
