Parliament Passes Vote of Confidence in Home Minister Ali Ihsan

The Parliament has passed a vote of confidence in Minister of Homeland Security, Ali Ihsan, following a no-confidence motion submitted by 12 opposition MDP members.
During the voting session, 64 members voted in favor of the Minister, while 11 members voted against him, out of the 75 members who participated.
Minister Ihsan appeared before the People’s Majlis to address the concerns raised in the motion, providing detailed explanations on each point.
One key issue raised was the expatriate management system, to which Minister Ihsan clarified that the system had been in development for 12 years and was still a work in progress when President Mohamed Muizzu’s administration took office in 2023.
Regarding allegations of fake forms being filled to register members for the PNC inside the DNR office, the Minister explained that he had been tasked with securing 500 membership forms and had instructed 50 political staff members to collect forms from family and friends. He confirmed that this work was conducted in a meeting room at the DNR office, and while he visited the location twice, the activity was not done in secrecy.
Following his clarifications, the Parliament proceeded with the vote, confirming continued confidence in Minister Ihsan.
