The Fujian Province of China has donated a large consignment of sports equipment to the Maldives in a ceremony held at Henveiru Football House.
Minister of Sports and Fitness Abdullah Rafiu accepted the donation on behalf of the Maldivian government, while Chinese Ambassador Kong Xianhua represented China during the handover.
The donated items include footballs, sports backpacks, and jerseys.
This marks the second donation from Fujian Province this year. In June, Fujian also provided a variety of sports equipment, including footballs, table tennis rackets and balls, as well as athletics gear.
China has long supported the development of sports in the Maldives, contributing through donations, training opportunities, and collaborations aimed at strengthening the sector.
