China supplied tear-gas، pepper spray to Maldive police – Focus News India

Focus News India reported saying that the Chinese government has supplied tear-gas and pepper spray to the Maldives Police Service.
The news agency on a tweet posted on Thursday night reported that، ‘a Chinese aircraft landed in Maldives suspected supplying tear-gas and pepper spray to Police.’

However، it is unclear of when the aircraft landed in Maldives. No authorities have yet confirmed or denied the news.
Police on Thursday had informed media that all the equipment and weapons they need for the operations will be sufficient and already supplied to them.
Upon asked if MNDF supplied them the weapons، Police said they cannot disclose the sources of the weapons to the media or to the public.
Meanwhile، the opposition is preparing for their ‘big’ protest’ to be held at 16:00 today. This protest will reportedly be participated by many people، including people from other atolls. Police، too، have strengthened their security in Male’ city.
