Anyone can be charged with terrorism- Ali Hussein

Kendhoo constituency MP, Ali Hussein has said that anyone can be charged with terrorism under the current penal code implemented by the government.
He said that the government can prosecute anyone whom they dislike with terrorism because of the way he or she talked or walked.
Ali Hussein said that Maldives does not follow any principles. He said that no one should be accused of terrorism without him or perpetrating any act of terror.
He said that terrorism is commonly defined as violent acts (or the threat of violent acts) intended to create fear. He stressed that advocating for the rights of the people and calling to end tyranny is not terrorism.
The current penal code was passed in 1966.
