President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed Dr. Mohamed Asim as the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Dr. Mohamed Asim took the oath of office on Wednesday morning, at a ceremony held at the President’s Office. The oath was administered by Supreme Court Judge Uz. Abdulla Areef.
Dr. Mohamed Asim has most recently served as the Maldivian High Commissioner in Bangladesh. He holds a PhD in Political Science and International Relations from the Australian National University.
He started his Dipolomatice Carrier as Ambassador to Sri Lanka in 2004 and has served in UK, After that He has served in UK, EU and in Pakistan in Maldivian Deplomatic Missions.
