Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has said that Velana International Airport (VIA) is expected to experience a high volume of passenger traffic tomorrow afternoon.
The company in a post on social media X, said that this surge is due to the return of Umrah pilgrims, coinciding with regular airport operations.
MACL advises all passengers to arrive early and allocate extra time for check-in and security procedures to ensure a smooth travel experience.
Umrah flights are scheduled to arrive at 14:00 hrs and 16:00 hrs.
In light of the anticipated crowding, MACL has requested taxi operators and transport service providers to cooperate in maintaining a smooth traffic flow around the airport.
