President highlights potential to deepen Maldives–Kuwait relations

President Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the Maldives and Kuwait have significant opportunities to further strengthen bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of both nations.
In a message shared on social media to mark Kuwait’s National Day on 25 February and Liberation Day on 26 February, the President extended warm greetings to His Highness Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, His Highness Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Government and the people of Kuwait.
The President noted that the occasions reflect the exemplary progress achieved by Kuwait and conveyed his wishes for continued peace and prosperity for its people.
He also expressed appreciation for the longstanding assistance provided by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, acknowledging its contributions to the welfare and development of the Maldivian people.
President Muizzu stated that relations between the Maldives and Kuwait are founded on trust and shared values, adding that the development partnership holds strong potential for further expansion.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Kuwait were established on 1 December 1977.
