In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Maldivian government said it “strongly condemns” the attack on the UAE’s Consulate General in the regional capital of Erbil.
The Maldives said the targeting of diplomatic premises represents a grave violation of international law, particularly the provisions outlined in the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

The government also emphasised the importance of ensuring the safety and protection of diplomatic missions and personnel around the world.
Maldives expressed solidarity with the United Arab Emirates following the incident, voicing support for both the Emirati government and its people.
