President congratulates Japanese Prime Minister on re-election

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended congratulations to Sanae Takaichi, Prime Minister of Japan, on her re-election to office.
In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister, the President noted that her renewed confirmation by the National Diet with a strong mandate reflects the confidence placed in her leadership and vision for Japan’s future.
As the Maldives and Japan prepare to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027, President Muizzu highlighted Japan’s longstanding support for the socio-economic development of the Maldives. He stated that the assistance provided by the Government of Japan continues to be deeply appreciated by the Maldivian people.
The President expressed confidence that under Prime Minister Takaichi’s new term, the two countries would further strengthen cooperation based on shared values and mutual respect, delivering tangible benefits to both nations.
He concluded by conveying his personal best wishes for the Prime Minister’s continued success, good health, and for the peace, progress and prosperity of the people of Japan.
