The Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology has decided to compile a register of foreigners working in the Maldives as part of its efforts to regularise illegal migrants.
The Ministry said initiatives targeting foreigners without work permits, those with expired permits, and those without valid identity documents are currently underway. As part of these efforts, the Ministry will conduct job matching for foreigners under its Mass Legalisation Programme being implemented through Operation Kurangi.
The Ministry has asked foreigners who have updated their biometrics to complete the relevant form and submit it within the deadline if they are seeking employment. Where there is demand for labour, the Ministry will make the necessary arrangements from the compiled register.
