Dhiraagu has renewed its partnership with local disability rights group, Care Society, by supporting this year’s edition of its annual vocational training program for young persons with disabilities.
Care Society’s vocational training programs seeks to empower students with disabilities through resources and training. Dhiraagu has supported their vocational training program since the NGO established a dedicated vocational training unit in 2018.

Dhiraagu renewed its partnership with Care Society by supporting the ‘Popup with a Purpose’, a special popup event held at the Rasfannu beach in Male’ last Friday. The popup had bakery stalls, arts and crafts corners, and game areas, offering a platform for the students to showcase their talent and creativity.

According to Care Society, its 2024 progress report showed improvements in the progress of 22 students enrolled in last year’s vocational training program, as they showed progress in their independence and communication and social skills.

There are 27 students enrolled in the program this year, which will focus on enhancing skills in computer literacy, cooking and baking, and arts and crafts, helping them build confidence, independence, and embrace a more inclusive future.

Empowering young people and persons with disabilities are key focus areas of Dhiraagu’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. As such, the company continues to support initiatives and programs such as the Care Society’s vocational training program.
