Maldives Marketing and Public Relations (MMPRC) has participated in the largest Chinese Tourism Fair – China Outbound Travel and Tourism Market (COTTM).
Alongside MMPRC, 10 local companies have also participated in this event. The main representative of the event was the ambassador of Maldives in China, Mr Mohamed Faisal.
Conducted in Beijing, the fair is set to continue till tomorrow. To promote the tourism of the Maldives, a large variety of activities are being conducted during the fair. This includes showcasing the natural beauty of the Maldives via Virtual Reality.
China has consecutively been the country which brings about the largest number of tourists to the Maldives. As such, a total of 283,116 Chinese tourists visited the Maldives in 2018. In the first quarter of 2019, the highest number of tourist arrivals came from China. However, there has been a gradual decline in the number of Chinese arrivals.
