BML Elevates Banking Experience with Launch of High-Limit Visa Platinum Card

Bank of Maldives (BML) on Wednesday unveiled its new Visa Platinum debit card, a premium offering designed to enhance international banking services and provide significantly higher transactional limits for its customers.
The new Visa Platinum card offers unprecedented flexibility for dollar account holders. Locally, BML customers utilising the new card can withdraw up to USD 3,200 daily from BML ATMs—effectively doubling the current standard withdrawal limit. Additionally, the card supports a generous USD 5,000 daily limit for overseas transactions and purchases.
The card was officially launched at a ceremony held at the Barcelo’s Nasandhuraa, coinciding with the kickoff of BML’s new corporate campaign, ‘Dhiveheenge Bank - Mulhi Raajje ah’. The Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed launched the card, marking the introduction of BML’s latest high-tier product.
In addition to the expanded cash access, the Visa Platinum card provides customers with several distinct premium features, including access to Visa’s international offerings and an exclusive 24-hour Visa Platinum concierge service. The card allows account holders to transact seamlessly across the Global Visa network and enjoy special privileges worldwide.
BML CEO and Managing Director, Mohamed Shareef, stated that the new card is central to the bank's strategy to improve customer access to international services.
"Our goal is to enhance international banking services to our customers. This is part of our efforts to further strengthen the banking experience of our customers by providing easy access to their dollar accounts and a premium experience, he explained.
BML confirmed that customers can immediately apply for the new Visa Platinum card through the bank’s internet banking platform or mobile application.
