Maldives team gears up for hackathon in China

A three-member Maldivian team, including a representative from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), is set to represent the nation at a prestigious hackathon in Hong Kong, China.
The "Coding4Integrity Asian Youth Anti-Corruption Hackathon 2025" will take place from September 15th to 19th. The team also comprises members from the National Center for Information Technology (NCIT) and the Women in Tech (NGO).
The Maldives will be represented by Ubaidhullah Ali from the ACC, Ahmed Afzal from NCIT, and Aminath Rayaan from Women in Tech.
The Coding4Integrity Hackathon is a collaborative effort, co-hosted by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the Independent Commission Against Corruption of Hong Kong, China, and the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities. This significant event aims to engage young people and champion the use of technology to cultivate a culture of innovation in the global fight against corruption.
The winning team of the Hackathon will earn an invaluable opportunity to participate in the 11th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC). This major global anti-corruption meeting is scheduled to be held from December 14th to 19th in Doha, Qatar.
The ACC views participation in this tournament as a vital opportunity to empower the younger generation and bolster international cooperation in the ongoing battle against corruption.
