Police tow 787 vehicles in Hulhumalé enforcement operation

The Maldives Police Service has completed a major enforcement operation in Hulhumalé to address illegal parking, unregistered vehicles, and vehicles operating outside their designated zone.
The operation, carried out in Hulhumalé Phase 1 from 6 to 11 December, resulted in the towing of 787 vehicles. Police reported that the total included 252 vehicles registered outside Zone A, 186 unregistered vehicles or those without number plates, and 349 vehicles parked illegally on public roads.
MPS extended gratitude to Government agencies, State-owned enterprises, private sector partners, and members of the public for their cooperation throughout the operation. The police noted that continued public support is vital to maintaining safe and orderly streets in Hulhumalé.
Similar enforcement efforts have been conducted in Malé City, where police work alongside the Local Government Authority and other stakeholders. MPS stated that these recurring operations aim to improve traffic flow, enhance pedestrian safety, and support overall public convenience.
