A 30 year old passed away from an accident in Laamu atoll this morning.
The accident took place on the link road connecting Gan and Fonadhoo, at the junction which connects to Maandhoo.
The deceased was identified as Ibrahim Nauzam from L. Maabaidhoo. He passed away at Gan Regional Hospital at around 08:45, while receiving treatment for his injuries. He is reported to have sustained significant brain trauma.
A source who spoke to Mihaaru News said the accident was caused by Nauzam's motorcycle slipping out of control and crashing into the side of the road
The accident happened at the bend where the link road turns to Maandhoo. Dangerous accidents have taken place at the location previously as well.
