Aishath Mohamed Solih retires after 40 years of service in education

Majeedhiya School Principal Aishath Mohamed Solih has retired today after having served in the education sector for four decades.
The school held a special assembly yesterday in recognition of Aishath' service and contributions.

Aishath, the sister of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, had informed the school of her planned retirement last Tuesday, a teacher from the school told Mihaaru News.
Majeedhiya School was also Aishath's first place of work after she completed her teaching courses. She worked as a primary teacher at the school from the age of 18 from 1984 to 1987.
She was then promoted to the post of Supervisor at Jamaaluddeen School.

After this, she was working at Imaadhudheen School, when the current Minister of Education Dr Ismail Shafeeu, who was then a deputy minister, approached her, requesting she take up the post of Assistant Principal at Majeedhiya School.
Eight years ago, she became the first female Principal of Majeedhiya School.
