"Nasheed and Boko Haram have a lot in common" – Adheeb

Tourism Minister Ahmed Adheeb states former President Mohamed Nasheed and his party MDP does not have any difference in comparison with Nigeria’s notorious and extremist militant group Boko Haram.
Following today’s PPM initiated motorbike ride، in similar fashion to MDP bike rides، Adheeb spoke at Henveiru “Raalhugandu” area after concluding motorbike trip around Male’ streets. Tourism Minister had put Nasheed’s act of kidnapping Criminal Court’s Chief Justice Abdulla Mohamed and keeping him hostage in comparison with Boko Haram’s kidnapping of young and adolescent girls in their human trafficking operations.
He also emphasized about keeping a man hostage is an act of terrorism.
Adheeb had also stated that current state is backed by all the judicial and government bodies، with no room for any injustice to occur. He also added that government will not intervene with legal system or their decision، and will constantly support to uphold and protect the Maldivian constitution.
Minister Adheeb had further  justified that PPM supporters are coming out on road to express their opinion، since MDP is following trend، stating that PPM would also cease their rallies once MDP puts a stop on their protests.
“We are not coming out on roads to protest، since we support peace and justice، so we call out not to provoke and anger the youth” adding that PPM will be bringing a mob that consists of youth، while he warned opposition saying “angering the youth will not end in a desirable way”.
