Minister of Foreign Affairs Dunya Maumoon has arrived in New York to attend the High Level Segment of the 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Minister Dunya will be the Head of the Maldives delegation to the High Level Segment of the 70th session of the UNGA and she will be addressing the General Debate.
Previously، President Abdulla Yameen was set to attend the UN General Assembly، however، he has departed to Saudi Arabia for Hajj Pilgrimage.
Minister Dunya will also lead Maldives delegation to the United Nations summit for the adoption of the post-2015 development agenda which will be held from 25 to 27 September 2015.
On the sidelines، Minister Dunya will also host an event to celebrate 50 years of Maldives Independence، which will be attended by high level dignitaries attending the General Assembly.
The 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly opened on 15 September 2015 in New York.
