Ministry launches new software suite to track medical stock and improve health sector connectivity

A new software suite has been introduced to strengthen health sector services and improve connectivity between the Ministry of Health and regional health centres.
The system was officially launched by Local Governance Minister Adam Shareef Umar at a ceremony held at the Health Ministry on Wednesday. Health Minister Abdulla Nazim also attended the event.
The suite includes tools to enhance communication between the ministry and health centres, as well as a digital system that allows the ministry to monitor medical stock levels maintained by service providers. Additional components include human resource management software, digital tools for document sharing and tracking, and other systems aimed at strengthening and digitizing healthcare operations.

The launch aligns with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s national digital transformation agenda, known as Maldives 2.0. The initiative aims to reshape how government services are delivered, how the economy grows, and how essential information reaches every citizen and island. Eight strategic goals have been set under the vision to guide the country’s transition to a fully digitalized state.
