Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Ibrahim Mohamed Didi retired on Wednesday after 19 years of service in the Maldives Corrections.  
A media officer from Corrections confirmed to Sun that Didi stepped down for personal reasons.  
He was appointed Deputy Commissioner on January 2, 2019, following the resignation of then-Deputy Commissioner Hassan Zilal on December 25, 2018. Prior to that, Didi served as Superintendent of Prisons.  
Since joining Corrections in 2006, Didi has held various positions across the department. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sharia and Law.
