Maldives Police Service have arrested two individuals for allegedly robbing MVR 33,500 in cash from an expatriate.
The law enforcement authority arrested Fawaz Kalhuthuhthu, 36, H. Redhan, and Sofwan Ali, 36, Lucky House, Th. Thimarafushi in the case.
Police had received report of the robbery around 02:12hrs on early Friday morning. The two had reportedly stolen from the expatriate on Gulaabee Goalhi, Male’ City.
Although no further details were shared, the authority is currently investigating the case.
Cases of theft and robbery have been increasing in the country at an alarming rate.
