Police have stated that the x-ray had confirmed there are no injuries sustained by the former President Mohamed Nasheed who is currently under Police custody.
Police media official said today that x-ray on Nasheed’s arms has confirmed there are no arm fractures or any other injuries to Nasheed. He also said the photos spreading on Social Media are fake photos.
A photo which depicts an x-ray of a hand with a broken thumb had been uploaded on Social Media today، of which the opposition members supporting Nasheed had claimed is the x-ray of Nasheed’s hand. However، sources had confirmed the x-ray is of an American boxer، Jorge Lopze، who injured his arm during a match in 2012.
Former President Nasheed had stated in the remand hearing on Monday that he was injured when Police pushed him to the ground during the escort to the court. He had also appealed to the presiding judge to allow him to consult a doctor، saying that his arm was fractured.
The mishandling of Nasheed while escorting him to the court was complained at HRCM by the legal team of Nasheed، following which the Commission had condemned the events and called upon the authorities to grant Nasheed the constitutional rights and medical treatment immediately.
