MDP’s Chairperson Ali Waheed alleges the upcoming Symposium to train individuals for the “2018 Presidential campaign of Yameen” organized by First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim، is a direct attempt to remove PPM’s leader and former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom from the party’s authority.
In his tweet، Ali Waheed had questioned about the Symposium’s main aim، stating it is planned attempt to fully remove former President from authority of PPM.

Ali Waheed’s tweet has come amid a time when MDA’s leader Siyam Mohamed had stated that to fully “eradicate the yellow fever، and a ‘vaccine’ has been prepared to counter it.”
Meanwhile، former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom had declined to participate in the official opening of the Symposium، upon being invited to the event.
With President Maumoon declining to open the Symposium officially، the role has now been directed to Vice President of Maldives Mr. Ahmed Adeeb.
