Maldives National Party – MNC President and Dhangethi Parliament Member, Ret. Colonel Mohamed Nazim defended Progressive Party of Maldives – PPM Sentor and Opposition Coalition Action Department Chair Mohamed Ismail for being held at Police custody for allegedly participating in the demonstration against yoga day event.
Colonel Nazim raised concern in his tweet regarding the delay of justice for the suspects arrested by police during the protest and obstruction in the yoga event organized by government and Indian Embassy on June 21st at Galolhu Stadium and said that it was unfair to hold anyone, regardless if it was former Parliament Member of Hoarafushi, Mohamed Ismail or any public citizen, in police custody by repeatedly increasing the remanded days without justice being served.
While being a great supporter of the current government, even Colonel Nazim has brought yoga day issue to Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla and Police’s attention by raising concern and disapproval.
