Vice President Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has returned from an official visit to China, after attending the Opening Ceremony of the 2nd China-South Asia Expo, and the 9th China-South Asia Business Forum.
Speaking to reporters upon his return last night (Monday night), Dr Jameel said that this visit has facilitated progress for Maldives in terms of existing opportunities for investment in tourism and renewable energy.
He referred to his meeting with Li Jiheng, the Governor of Yunnan Province, and said that he was assured by the governor that the People’s Government of Yunnan Province will work with the Maldives to invest in various sectors in the Maldives.
