Leader of the Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran Abdulla has given a statement to the investigation while the Chairperson of MDP, Ali Waheed is exercising his right to remain silent.
The questioning of the two in an investigation by the Serious and Organized Crime Department of the Maldives Police Service was at 2:30 p.m. in Dhoonidhoo.
They were questioned in the presence of their lawyer Usnusuood.
Suoodh told Sun Media today that the Police questioned Imran and Ali Waheed regarding their speech last Friday at the Artificial Beach.
He said that Imran answered the questions and gave a statement to the Police. But the MDP Chairperson Ali Waheed has chosen to exercise his constitutional right to remain silent.
Police arrested both Imran and Ali Waheed on Friday night with a court order.
The case investigated by the Police is the case regarding their speeches that empower the protestors and encourage protestors to confront the Police and create conflict.
Aside from the two, Police also arrested the Vice President, Ameen Ibrahim and Foreign and Public Relations, Sobah Rasheed of Jumhooree Party.
