Voting has begun for the Primary of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) for the upcoming by-election for Dhiggaru constituency.
Voting has begun in the islands of the Dhiggaru constituency; Dhiggaru، Maduvvari، Veyvah، and Muli، at 2:00 p.m and the voting will continue until 5:00 p.m. The Primary is not held in Raiymandhoo، an island in the constituency.
People in Male’ has been arranged to vote to the box at Billoori Hall in Dharubaaruge.
The total number of eligible voters for PPM Dhiggaru Primary is 512.
The candidates for the Primary are Meemu Atoll Council’s President Moosa Naseer، and the son of Former President Maumoon and the current state Minister of Economic Ministry Farish Maumoon.
The voting of Dhiggaru by-election will be held on June 6، 2015.
The by-election is held due to former Dhiggaru MP Ahmed Nazim being sentenced for 25 years of imprisonment.
