For the first time, the opportunity to complete medical internship at Hulhumale’ Hospital is now available.
Medical graduates are required to complete a one-year medical internship programme before entering permanent service. Until now, internship opportunities in the Maldives were only available at Dharumavantha Hospital.
Addressing concerns of limited internship opportunities, the government made arrangements to offer internship opportunities at two new hospitals: Addu Equatorial Hospital in Addu City and Hulhumale’ Hospital in Hulhumale’. Application has now been opened to apply for internship positions at Hulhumale’ Hospital, with 15 spots available.
Graduates who wish to participate in the intern programme at Hulhumale’ Hospital may apply from 29 June until 12:00 noon on 8 July . Details of the requirements and documents to be submitted with the application form have been published in the gazette.
If more than 15 eligible candidates apply for the internship programme, priority will be given based on how long ago the candidate completed their MBBS and the order in which applications are received.
