Former President Mohamed Nasheed as said that he’s been hearing talk of another coup formulating itself in the country.
Speaking to the press upon returning from his trip to Abu Dhabi and Japan، MDP’s President said that it was concerning for President Yameen to be out of the country so often، especially “at a time when we hear talk of a coup formulating itself”.
Referring to President Yameen’s unofficial trip to Singapore، the former President said that President Yameen spends a lot of his time abroad، and that he finds it hard to believe there is no significant cause for that.
“And then the spokesperson says [President Yameen] is not ill. I assure you، any Maldivian would be concerned if their President was ill. I therefore believe it to be important that the people be told the truth.”، he said.
