Milestone to provide doctors to every island have been achieved، said Defense Minister Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim who has temporarily taken over the administration of Ministry of Health. 
During a press briefing in Health Ministry on Wednesday، Minister Nazim said that after providing medical officers to every island، the aim of the government will be to provide professional doctors to all the hospitals.
“By Allah’s will، we have achieved our first milestone in providing doctors to every island. Our next aim is to provide professional doctors to the allocated hospitals.” Minister Nazim said assuring the second milestone to be completed soon as well.
During a press briefing on Tuesday، Minister Nazim said that except for three islands، every island will have medical officers. Until Tuesday، L. Mundoo، M. Raiymandhoo and M. Veyvah were without a medical officer.
In addition، Health Ministry have signed a contract of Rf. 630700 with D.M.N. Traders of G Dh Thinadhoo for the renovation of Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital situated in G Dh Thinadhoo. The agreement cites that the project should be completed within 60 days from signing.
