President of the Medical Council, Dr. Abdulla Afif has said that the main aim of the screening test for the doctors is to ensure the level and to ensure that all doctors maintain their level of knowledge and skills.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, Dr. Afif said that the screening test is not something newly decided by the council but has been announced on the year 2013.
Dr. Afif said that screening the level of the doctors by holding such a test is done in many countries of the world and there are good reasons to hold such a test.
He said that the need to assure the public of physicians’ competence is of paramount importance since practices within the health care field are under constant scrutiny in today’s demanding and complex health care.
