Broadcasting Commission member Safa Shafeeq has been elected as the commission's President today.
Safa was elected to the post in today's meeting of the commission.
The position became vacant following the end of previous Broadcom President Mariyam Waheedha's term in office.
Safa was appointed as a member of the commission in September, 2023.
Safa holds degrees from Limkokwing University and the Maldives National University. She worked for many years as a presenter at TVM.
Yesterday, Mohamed Abdulla and Aminath Sarahath Izzath Sidqi were appointed as members of the commission.
Currently, President Safa, Vice President Mohamed Fazeen, members Aminath Ameena, Shifla Ibrahim and the two newly appointed members sit in the commission.
