President Muizzu Discusses Maduvvari’s Development Challenges

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reviewed the key concerns faced by Maduvvari, Raa Atoll, during a meeting held with Maduvvari Council, Women’s Development Committee (WDC) and heads of institutions. The discussions were held as part of his ongoing visit to select islands of Raa Atoll.
During the meeting, the Maduvvari Council emphasised the need to tackle the issue of erosion, address land shortages and expand land where feasible. The Council also requested the Government to add uninhabited island Ufulandhoo to the jurisdiction of Maduvvari, and the expedited completion of the island’s road development project and harbour reconstruction project. The Council also requested the timely completion of the island’s football stadium and the fitness and recreation centre, which will be valuable community facilities once finished and handed over to the Maduvvari Council.
The President, through the Cabinet Ministers present at the meeting, shared the latest information on the issues raised by the Council, demonstrating the Government's accountability and transparency in responding to the community's needs.
