Sultan Park to be refurbished to everyone’s satisfaction: President Muizzu

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has said that Sultan Park will be refurbished into a lush, green space with big trees and interconnected treetop walkways, ensuring accessibility and enjoyment for people of all ages.
Speaking in the second episode of Rayyithunnaa Eku [With Citizens], a podcast hosted by the President’s Office, he highlighted the importance of creating active and engaging environments to promote public health.
He highlighted the need for outdoor spaces where children can play and families can enjoy themselves, even in Male'.
As part of these efforts, the government is working to restore and enhance parks in Male', with special attention given to Sultan Park.
"We are refurbishing Sultan Park with more features than before. The park already has large trees, and we plan to introduce exciting treetop activities," President Muizzu stated.
Sultan Park was initially redeveloped in its current form when President Muizzu served as the Housing Minister, at which time a snow park was also there.
The President reassured that the new design would cater to all age groups, incorporating adventurous elements that allow visitors to navigate from tree to tree. Additional amenities will also be included to enhance the experience.
The government had earlier announced in February that redevelopment work on Sultan Park would commence soon.
