Parliament adjourns with MDP MPs obstructing Presidential Address

The Speaker has announced the names of opposition Maldivian Democratic Party members who are obstructing the Presidential Address in this year's first parliamentary sitting.
As President Dr Mohamed Muizzu began delivering the Presidential Address, MDP MPs went near the podium at which he was standing and loudly protested.
After three attempts at advising the MPs to desist from obstructing the proceedings, Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla announced the names of the said MPs for removal from parliament chambers.
Despite this, the MPs continued to refuse to leave. The Speaker has now adjourned the sitting. He stated that the sitting will resume once the MPs whose names were announced leave the parliament floor.
